आजादी के दशक में ब्रिटिश शासन के समय शिक्षा का आभाव भारत जैसे समृद्धशाली देश के लिए लम्बे समय तक गुलामी का दंश बहुत ही विनाशकारी था। उस समय देश के महत्वपूर्ण एवं तत्कालीन शिक्षाविदों के लिए तथा आजादी के चहेतों के लिए बहुत ही कठिन कार्य था ब्रिटिश शासन का उन्मूलन ।

परन्तु ईश्वर की असीम कृपा से तथा भारत माता के सानिध्य से तत्कालीन ब्रिटिश शासन से 15 अगस्त सन् 1947 को भारत की पुण्य भूमि एवं जनमानस स्वतंत्र हो गया। अतएव आधुनिक युग के लिए शिक्षा महत्वपूर्ण है। शिक्षा गुणवत्तापूर्ण, शारीरिक, कौशल विकास युक्त, व्यवहारिक एवं नीतिगत शिक्षा से परिपूर्ण शिक्षण संस्था का होना अत्यंत आवश्यक है।

School is the temple of learning. Where teachers endure to make students competent to face the challenges of the world. Children are inquisitive, they must be allowed to become discoverer and explorers of their own creative potential. Sometimes it is seen that the talents of students suppressed and their delicate sensitivities stamped upon, overlooked and damaged due to sheer neglect, but we must remember that talents have a life of their own. It needs the right environment to keep but to find its true place and to flourish making the each richer and wealthier with talents and thought.

Education should not be limited to books only. It should be stereotype making a student face the challenge of world and look forward to all round development of the student.
